cards of encouragement

It was a hard one today.  Sometimes hopeless thoughts get the best of me.  Depression isn’t easy.  The day got better.  Of all things, the love letter I got from God was that the store-brand items at the Food-4-Less are Kroger brand.  I used to shop at Kroger in Mississippi and really like their generic foods.  That’s right, it doesn’t take much.

Yesterday while waiting for people to move from the Father’s Day section of the cards in Target I started looking at encouragement cards.  As I read them, I pretended that someone was giving the cards to me.  It was kind of like therapy.  So today, when things got super rough, I thought of the cards of encouragement.

If I could, I would make a place where people could go to walk through encouragement cards.  Like a hall of encouragement cards.  They would hang from the ceiling on different length strings and they’d be so thick you couldn’t walk a step without running into them.  It would be like walking through a cornfield of fully mature cornstalks, except they’d be walking through encouragement.  If I could, I would make that.
